Salon Hair Products

One question which is asked by many people and on a regular basis is if salon hair products are in fact better than those that can be purchased off the shelf.

Hair salons almost always boast that salon products are in fact much better for your hair.  However, many products which can be bought in a salon are not readily available off the shelf, hence the product being expensive from a salon.

Before purchasing a salon product, ask to see the list of ingredients that are contained in the salon products in order to compare them to off the shelf products.  The prime ingredient in the product will undoubtedly be water, along with other ingredients which are named surfactants.

These particular ingredients cause the water to mix more easily with the cleaning agents, which will ultimately cause the lather on the hair.  One thing that is claimed by salon products, is that they possess a higher surfactant content, which are more gentle to the hair than those that are available in off the shelf products.

Aloe as well as pleasant aromas are also ingredients that will be added salon products in order to make the product sell better.  These will contain various preservatives in order to keep the product in its original state, giving the product a longer shelf life.

Because of all of these factors, it is really not a simple decision as to whether salon products are in actual fact better than off the shelf products.  Hair salons can obviously charge more for a hair product, as it cannot be purchased off the shelf, therefore you will never really know what price the product actually is.  The salon can in effect make a very good profit from hair products.

It is common knowledge that the main priority of a hair salon is in actual fact customer satisfaction.  Therefore, the only certainty that you can have about salon products and to know if they are better products than those that can be purchased off the shelf, is to try a variety of different brands side by side.

How To Do Hair – Easy French Braid

It might look complicated, but don’t let that fool you: Learning how to do hair in a French braid is easier than you’d think. You want to start by brushing out all the tangles from your hair, then smooth your hair down with a mousse or holding gel. This will help the hair stay in place as you work with it.

You will then take a section at the front of the hair where the bangs are or would be. This section should be from temple to temple (right above the ear line).

Separate the section into three even pieces. Start by braiding the right section over the middle section. Since you don’t want any hair slipping out of your grasp, hold on tight to the braid.

Now to continue you bring the left segment over the middle segment. As you learn how to do hair in a French braid, you should keep a spray bottle of water nearby in case your hair starts to dry out. Handling wet rather than dry hair is so much easier.

Next, you will use a comb to take more hair from the head on the left side. You’ll be taking this strip of hair about an inch down from the temple. Then you will add it to the left section of the braid.

You will do the same on the right side of the head. Then, braid the right section of hair over the middle section. Then the left strip of hair needs to be braided over the middle section.

Keep on braiding and adding new sections of hair until you finally reach the bottom of your head. Finalize the French braid by braiding up the loose sections of hair into a normal braid.

You can tie the end of the hair with a ribbon or pony tail holder. If you practice, learning how to do hair in a French braid is easy. Soon it will be like second nature, even if you don’t necessarily get it right the first time.

Natural Skin Care – A Younger You

All-natural skin care products are the best choice if you want to breathe new life into your skin. These safe cosmetics are actually good for you, while other products made with strong chemicals can be harmful, can damage your skin and can even cause health problems. Plus, natural products give skin a wonderfully refreshed look. Here is what we found when we checked out the wholesome, pure make-up of ten trendy natural skin care products.

First, as simple as it sounds, humble olive oil is outstanding for your skin. In addition to moisturizing the upper layers of the skin, olive oil soaks in to treat deeper layers and leaves your skin smoother than before. There are now numerous products available that contain olive oil, ranging from body butters to creams to treatments that revitalize the skin around the eyes.

2. Cucumber: soothing and cool, cucumber injects water deep into your skin, allowing it to stay moisturized all day. Unlike olive oil, cucumber is not oil-based, so is safe to use for people with acne and other skin problems. Because cucumber juice is a mild electrolyte, your skin cells will absorb it very quickly, revitalizing them.

3. Bee pollen: we found many new products touting the benefits of bee pollen. Here’s the scoop: bee pollen contains particles that sensitize the skin to become more resistant to allergic reactions and inflammation. It is that low-grade, everyday inflammation that is so dangerous to your skin in the long run, as it creates wrinkles, irritation, and scarring.

4. Avocado: the tasty green avocado is at the cutting edge frontier of natural skin care products. It is full of a unique fiber called glucophrin, the unseen fibers stick to your skin and firm it. As an extra treat, the large doses of potassium and vitamin E in these great vegetables are really good for your skin.

Who would think that the humble egg white would contain something so good for your skin? Egg whites contain amino acids, which are proteins that help skin acquire strength and thickness. Thin skin is prone to creping and wrinkling, and using a thickening facial creme or mask can improve the skin’s condition. While especially effective for younger women, older women will also find that proactive skin care such as this can keep your skin radiant.
